Sir – I’m grateful to your two correspondents, Lee Graham and Maurice Smithson, for pointing out all the flaws, problems, faults and inadequacies in my forthcoming book The Good Man Jesus and the Scoundrel Christ.

What amazes me is that neither of them can have the faintest idea what it says, because it hasn’t even gone to the printer yet, and still they know exactly what’s wrong with it. Knowledge like that can only be supernatural in origin; I wish I’d had the benefit of their advice when I was writing the book.
