ONCE again, Oxfordshire County Council's traffic “planners” have displayed their inefficiency.
Last Friday, I tried to find a disabled space in Broad Street, but a notice on a lamp-post said that all disabled bays were closed to allow the free passage of buses during roadworks.
Yet there were no buses in Broad Street and I could see that buses were passing along Magdalen Street East, where the roadworks had obviously finished. Why were all the disabled bays closed, instead of just some which might have hindered buses?
And why were they still closed when Magdalen Street was clear?
I have emailed Ian Hudspeth, the traffic supremo, for an answer but so far received no response. I hope that the traffic department never has to organise a party in a brewery.
