DO WE believe that the county council cares that much about pollution?
I don’t think so, because a lot of small cars can be in top gear at 30mph, hence putting out less pollution. So I say that we haven’t got a car in Oxford now in the 20mph zone that isn’t putting out more pollution than it did before with the 30mph limit.
Bigger cars and lorries have also had to drive in lower gears. So come on you council, so-called know-it-alls, you are always telling us how we can prevent more pollution, when you have caused more pollution by bringing in a 20mph.
Drivers are having to take their eyes off the road to keep checking their speed, looking for cameras etc. it’s quite an ordeal just to get to work these days.
