A CITY councillor is in the running to be a Labour candidate in next year’s General Election — in a constituency 250 miles away in Cumbria.
Cowley Marsh ward councillor and executive member for safer communities Saj Malik, who defected from the Liberal Democrats in 2006, will be interviewed by party officials on Saturday, October 3, as he tries to make the shortlist for the Barrow-in-Furness constituency, in Cumbria.
