A SINGLE red rose fixed to a wooden cross, above, has marked the spot where Bicester motorcyclist Ian Blake, below, was killed in a crash.

The 47-year-old died riding a blue Suzuki in Wretchwick Way at the junction with Peregrine Way, on Saturday afternoon.

A spokesman for the Oxfordshire coroner confirmed Mr Blake was from the Bicester area, but said an inquest into his death had not yet been opened.

The cross aws placed at the crash scene with the words “Ian Blake, we all love you” written across it in black.

A red rose was tied to it, along with a white ribbon.

His wife and children left one of 10 bunches of flowers and a note at the verge, which read: “My Baby has gone. Will be missed and loved and treasured for the rest of our lives. From your loving wife and children.”

His daughter drew a red heart surrounded by kisses. She wrote: “To Daddy. I love you lots and miss you. Love from your little princess.”

Two children wrote a tribute note, reading: “RIP, from Chelsea. We will miss you, from Paige.”

Another friend wrote: “Blakey Dude RIP. Going to miss you big time. Our nights out and our ride outs will never be the same without you. Love Dez, Heike and Kids. XXX.”

A 26-year-old man arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving was bailed to return to Banbury police station on October 31. Anyone with information about the crash should call police on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
