OXFORDSHIRE County Council has again persecuted the disabled fraternity by issuing a parking ticket to a lady who abided by the rules of disabled parking (Mail, September 18).
Despite Miss Cherrill’s protestations, the council spokesperson still believes the council was right.
Firstly why were the disabled parking bays suspended instead of the normal parking bays?
Perhaps the disabled spaces needed to be suspended to allow buses to turn round while St Giles Fair was happening.
Surely a forward-thinking council would have forseen the problem and, while having to suspend the disabled bays, could they not have made the adjacent normal parking bays into temporary disabled bays?
Of course, St Giles Fair has caused motoring problems for generations, but loss of revenue is foremost for the council.
