TWO people were injured after a light aircraft crashed in Caversfield, near Bicester.
The Auster plane came down near Buckingham Road at about 2.30pm yesterday.
The pilot, who was in his 50s, was airlifted to Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital suffering from serious injuries.
A second man who was described as ‘walking wounded’ was taken to the JR by ambulance with non life-threatening leg injuries.
Thames Valley Police said the aircraft was recovered on Saturday.
The plane, which crashed near Bicester Crane and Plant Haulage, is thought to have taken off from a nearby airfield, but got into trouble and was not able to make it back.
An air accident investigation is expected to get under way next week.
