AFC Brightwell Youth proved too strong for Summertown Comets, although the away side wouldn't give up, on another sunny morning at The Black Cats Park, Brightwell.
Both sides started positivly, playing good passing football but it was to be The Cougars who broke the deadlock as Sam Gould began his goal spree. It was Sam again who added the 2nd. And a long range Ben Davis strike, from inside his own half, that put Brightwell 3-0 up before the break.
Liam Gesner's long goal kicks were causing the Summertown defence some problems and early in the second half, an improved performance from Robert Sherwood, saw him latch onto one and finish past the keeper to make it 4-0.
From then on it was a brilliant Brightwell performance that culminated in MoM, Sam Gould, scoring the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th goals of the game, netting himself a double hatrick.
As mentioned, an exceptional effort by all Summertown players, despite the result, and good luck to them, for the rest of the season.
