The sun shone brightly for the early morning game with Wantage pushing the attack straight from the whistle. Great defensive play from Appleton kept Wantage at bay for the first 5 minutes. However, constant pressure and driving attacks favoured Wantage, allowing Arthur Tilly his first goal of the day.
Appleton continued to keep Wantage on their toes by forcing the ball forward but good defending from Will Starling and James McFarland kept it solid at the back. Continued pressure combined with good linking play between Nathan Edwards and Jack Buckley allowed Arthur to drill his second goal over the keepers head.
The second half found more of the same great action from both sides with Appleton forcing Joshua Legge to come out of his area and clear the ball. Wantage now had their heads up and were looking for their third goal of the day. Once again Arthur's energy and enthusiasm came up trumps which secured his hat-trick.
Lines were constantly being cleared presenting an opportunity for Will to drive a long range attempt on goal, only to be saved from the Appleton keeper.
Wantage were now on a high and continued passing through-balls linking with Nathan who displayed his latest scissor-step over trick to foil the opposition defence opening up his back post finish concluding the game 4 - 0.
Great team spirit from both team players ensured a superb game.
