WE ARE not sure of the collective name for a group of nuns, but they were certainly in abundance on this occasion.
The gathering of members of more than 60 Church of England religious orders was held at Christ Church, Oxford, in 1965.
They met to discuss the place of their organisations in the modern world.
It was the first conference of its kind to be held, and was organised by the Rev F L Cross, Professor of Divinity at Oxford University and a canon of Christ Church.
The nuns are pictured in the Priory Hall garden during a tea and coffee break.
