Police are appealing for witnesses after two burglaries in East Oxford.
At about 9.05am on Wednesday, a 19-year-old woman came downstairs in her house in Hurst Street and discovered a man burgling her house. The man was black and thought to be in his thirties.
The man fled the house through a side door, stealing a laptop and camera.
It is thought the same man may also have been responsible for a burglary in Henley Avenue some time between 9am and 4.30pm, where a laptop and jewellery were stolen.
Det Sgt Louise Tompkins said: “We want to hear from anyone who may have seen a man matching this description in these areas at this time, or who saw anyone acting suspiciously.”
Anyone with information should contact Det Sgt Tompkins via the Thames Valley Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505, or contact the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
