PRIZES for this year’s Oxford in Bloom contest are being handed out tomorrow night at a special ceremony.
More than 250 gardening enthusiasts are due to attend the awards ceremony at the Roman Way Sports and Social Club in Cowley.
Those taking part are being advised to arrive at 7pm, with the presentations beginning at 7.30pm.
More than 200 awards are being handed out, with results declared on the night Radio and TV presenter Wesley Smith is hosting the event, while Oxford’s Lord Mayor Mary Clarkson is handing out the awards.
Oxford in Bloom chairman Karen Roberts said: “There have been a healthy number of entries this year, about 600. The standard has been very high.”
Categories include Best Kept Small Front Garden, Best Kept Large Front Garden, Most Beautiful Hanging Basket and Most Attractive Window Box.
There are also categories for schools and businesses in the city.
See Saturday’s Oxford Mail for full coverage of the award ceremony.
