A woman who stopped at a crash scene to help the driver may be a key witness in a criminal investigation, police said this morning.
A grey MG Spark convertible sports car was found overturned on Downs Road, in Witney, at 6.17pm on Thursday, August 27.
The 39-year-old driver, a Witney man, was taken to hospital with head injuries but discharged shortly afterwards.
He was later arrested on suspicion of aggrevated vehicle taking, drink driving, and driving while disqualified and with no insurance.
He has been released on bail until October 15.
Pc Wayne Martin said: “Our enquiries have led us to speak to a number of witnesses.
“But I am particularly keen to speak with a lady who stopped at the scene and helped the injured man.
“I believe she may have been driving a 4x4 type vehicle.
“I would ask this lady, or anyone who saw the collision, to contact me.”
Anyone with information should contact police on 0845 850 5505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
