Police are appealing for witnesses after a robbery in Didcot on Saturday.
At about 2.45am, a 19-year-old woman was approached by two men in Queensway, who asked her if she had a lighter. As she handed one over to them, one of the offenders demanded that she hand over her bag which she did.
The men were white and aged between 25 and 30. One was wearing a long-sleeved dark coloured top and had stubble on his face. The other had a big nose.
Det Con Dave Edwards said: “The men asked the woman if she had a mobile phone. When she told them she didn’t they threw her bag on the floor.
"As she bent down to pick up the items she was punched in the side. The offenders made off with about £15 in cash and some keys.
“I appeal to anyone who was in Didcot in the early hours of Saturday morning and saw two men matching these descriptions to contact police immediately.”
Anyone with information that could assist police enquiries is urged to contact Det Con Edwards, via Thames Valley Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505. If you don’t want to speak to police and don’t want to leave your name contact the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
