A man snatched cash from an elderly woman as she left a bank in Oxford.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the 90-year-old retired teacher was robbed outside HSBC bank, Banbury Road, in Summertown, at around noon on Friday September 4.
The man, described as around 50-years-old, thin and with balding ginger hair snatched £80 and was then joined by a young boy, possibly his son, thought to be 13 or 14-years-old.
Case investigator Dick Evans said the incident has only recently been reported to police.
Mr Evans added: “This is a despicable offence against an elderly retired school teacher who had visited a nearby bank.
“The victim was so shocked she was unable to call out for help.
“There may have been other witnesses in the area of the HSBC bank who may not have realised what was actually going on. They are asked to contact police if they saw anything.
“An appeal also goes out for any person who may be able to identify the balding ginger haired man and the young boy.”
The pensioner was not injured in the robbery.
Anyone with information should contact police on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
