A teenager has become the latest victim of street robbery in Didcot.
The 19-year-old girl was approached by two men in Queensway at around 2.45am on Saturday who asked if she had a cigarette lighter.
As she handed it over they demanded her handbag and stole £15 cash and keys.
There have been five robberies and two assaults in Didcot in a four week period in July and August.
Det Con Dave Edwards said: “The men asked the woman if she had a mobile phone. When she told them she didn’t they threw her bag on the floor. As she bent down to pick up the items she was punched in the side. The offenders made off with around £15 in cash and some keys.
“I appeal to anyone who was in Didcot in the early hours of Saturday morning and saw two men matching these descriptions to contact police immediately.”
The men were described as white and aged between 25 and 30 years old.
One was wearing a long-sleeved dark coloured top and had stubble on his face. The other had a big nose.
Anyone with information should contact police on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
