Abingdon Youth welcomed Oxford City Colts on a warm Sunday morning.
Oxford City Colts started well for the first 5 minutes until James Pearce-Shaw was brought down in the box by the advancing Oxford City Colts keeper. Harry Johnson blasted the penalty into the bottom corner to put Abingdon ahead.
The game was fiercely contested in the midfield for the next 15 minutes, with both sides going close. Max Shepherd then lobbed the keeper from 20 yards to make it 2 nil to Abingdon and a matter of minutes Max Shepherd ran onto a through ball to fire past the Oxford City keeper. 3 nil to Abingdon at half time.
Second half was tight with both defences doing well to stop the opposing strikers. Oxford City Colts were caught when James Pearce-Shaw raced away and scored a good goal from 10 yards. Abingdon 4 nil up and they started to play with confidence, Max Shepherd got his hatrick after some good work down the right and tapped in from 2 yards.
Oxford City Colts never gave up but could not find a way past the Abingdon keeper.
