First shot of the game came in the second minute when Ardington's Jaden Wilkins forced a good save from the Berinsfield goal keeper. Ardington took the lead a minute later when Jaden intercepted a goal kick and shot from the outside penalty area giving the Berinsfield keeper little chance.
Aringtons 2nd goal came when a ball from Jaden found Leroy Brandoa who shot high into the net. Leroy forced a save from the keeper but was brought down in the penalty box when he went for the rebound. Jaden was unlucky to hit the post from the resulting penalty kick. Ardington continued to dominate for long periods without taking the chances they made.
The long mazy run from Berinsfield no 17 forced Ardington into a last ditch tackle to prevent him from scoring. Berinsfield no 7 collected the ball in his own half and after a good run forced a save from Danny Wilkins in the Ardington goal. First half ended with Ardington leading 2-0 but for the excellent goal keeping from the Berinsfield keeper and some stout defending from his team mates the lead would have been greater.
The second half started the same with Ardington on top. Ardington's 3rd goal came from Scott Webb forced a save from the keeper but followed up and scored on the rebound.
Berinsfield took a free kick from the edge of the Ardington box where Michael Moss broke away who then passed to Scott who turned to score his 2nd goal. Danny Wilkins then had to make a save when Berinsfield no 17 had another good run and shot. Berinsfield no 10 then came close, but hit the side net.
The fifth and final goal came when Michael ran from the half way line to slot the ball under the advancing Berinsfield keeper. Ardington cam close to scoring a sixth in the last move of the game when good football between Jordan Pierce abd Luca Balman set up a chance for Michael which went narrowly wide.
Congratulations to both sides for the sporting manner in which the game was played.
