TWO people who ran a string of brothels where customers were encouraged to fill in forms rating their experience were jailed yesterday.
Jamie-Lee Rowland, 31, of Mandlebrote Drive, Littlemore, Oxford and Rachel Ricardo, 38, of Ladder Hill, Wheatley, both pleaded guilty to jointly conspiring to manage a network of eight brothels.
Oxford Crown Court heard Rowland ran the network between July 2006 and November last year, joined later by Ricardo, with Oxford properties in Iffley Road and Upway Road, Headington, and others in Reading, Newbury, Milton Keynes, and Camberley, in Surrey.
The operation earned them in excess of £100,000.
Customers were encouraged to complete forms commenting on the quality of their experience, which ranged in price from £60-£200, and girls were required to fill in job sheets.
Summing up, Recorder John Rider described the running of the business as highly sophisticated.
Rowland was jailed for two years and Ricardo for 12 months.
Rowland was sentenced to a further 18 months, to run consecutively, for the possession of a stun gun and a knife.
Last night, Dc Richard Jones, of Thames Valley Police, said: “Work is currently under way to try to confiscate the money they made.”
