OXFORD University is opening up its Alumni Weekend to members of the public for the first time.
The university holds a weekend of events for former students and staff each year, but they are usually not open to the general public.
But this year, a small number of tickets at selected events will be open to anyone for a £5 fee. In all, 120 activities including speakers and authors will be taking place between Friday, September 25, and Sunday, September 27.
Among the high profile names will be Joanna Trollope and Francesca Kay, who will be leading a session on Oxford’s Contemporary Women Writers.
Nicola Horlick will hold a talk entitled A Woman’s Place is in the Boardroom, while Iain Douglas-Hamilton will let people into The Secret Life of Elephants, and Paul Gambaccini will talk on Sex, Drugs and Rock ‘n’ Roll.
All tickets must be booked in advance.
