Police today appealed for witnesses following a snatch theft in Grenoble Road, Oxford.
At about 9pm on Wednesday, a 27-year-old woman was walking along the road texting a friend, when two youths ran up behind her and snatched the phone from her hand.
Det Con Rob Barratt said: “The victim didn’t get a good look at the thieves, but believes one of them was black and one was white and appeared to be teenagers, about 5ft 4in tall, and slim.
“The stolen phone was a pink LG Cookie model, so if anyone is offered one of these to buy, or knows of anyone who has recently come into possession of one, then we would like to hear from you.
“We would also like to hear from anyone who was in this area at the time the incident happened, who may have seen the two youths running away.”
Anyone with information should contact Det Con Barratt via the Thames Valley Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505, alternatively you can contact the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
