I was appalled when I read the article about the dog attack and the owner’s response to it.
It seems more and more that these aggressive dogs are being owned by equally aggressive owners.
It is obvious that the owner is one of life’s social under-achievers whose response to a terrible attack by his animal is to threaten physical violence should they try to seek help.
This could so easily have resulted in a death, and when a situation like this meets with that kind of response, then it is clear that the owner lacks any form of social understanding and should never be allowed to own such an animal.
The law must now be seen to take immediate action as a warning to others, put the dog down, heavily fine the owner and ban him from owning any animal for the rest of his life.
