Children displayed a range of circus skills at a big-top show for parents, relatives and friends. A circus of six to 11-year-olds performed juggling, plate-spinning and acrobatics in a big- top tent as part of St Joseph’s Primary School’s circus week.
Fred’s Flying Circus came to the school last week to teach the children, who then volunteered to take part in the show, which went ahead on Thursday and Friday.
With candy floss and popcorn at the ready, Lina Hawkswood, Co-chairman of the Parent Teacher Association, said it was “just like a real circus”.
She added: “It was a really great couple of days, because it gave the children the opportunity to experience something they wouldn’t normally be able to.
“How many children can say they have performed in a big top and worked with professionals from a real circus?”
