Police are appealing for witnesses after a taxi driver was robbed at knifepoint in the early hours of Sunday.
The driver went to collect a fare from Druce Way in Blackbird Leys at 12.30am. He saw two men walking from a set of stairs in the road.
Det Con Fran Whyte, from the Oxford robbery team, said: “One of the men got into the rear of the taxi and asked him to wait a minute for his friend to arrive.
“He said he waited two minutes and suddenly the man in the rear of the taxi put his arm around his neck and placed a sharp implement to his neck and said ‘don’t do anything.’ “The second man then got into the front of the taxi and demanded the driver hand over everything, taking his money, his wallet containing credit cards and his sat nav.”
The first man was black, 6ft, and slim. He was wearing a black hooded top, tracksuit bottoms and gloves.
The other man was black, 6ft tall, with a fat build. He was wearing a black hooded top and jeans. He was also wearing gloves.
Both men then got out of the car and ran away down the alleyway in Druce Way, in the direction of the Greyhound Stadium.
Anyone with information is urged to contact DC Whyte via the Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
