A BANBURY sixth-former died from a head injury after the car he was driving careered off the road, ended upside down in a ditch and hit a tree, an inquest heard.
Warwickshire Coroner Sean McGovern recorded an accidental death verdict on 17-year-old Caleb Terence Gabriel Madeiros, of Southam Road, who died on January 15 – five months after passing his driving test.
He was a sixth-form pupil at Sibford School, in Sibford Ferris, near Banbury.
The coroner said: “He lost control – and we can speculate as to why that was.”
He added while there was a suspicion that speed was a factor, no-one had seen how the crash happened.
