A CONMAN who stole cash from two women in Oxford by pretending he was a local vicar has been jailed for five years.
Mark Rhodes, 26, of no fixed abode, was arrested after he appeared on TV’s Crimewatch in May. He later admitted eight distraction burglaries, eight frauds, and asked for 53 other offences to be taken into account during sentencing at Gloucester Crown Court.
Rhodes stole a total of £8,000, including cash from women in Fitzherbert Close, Iffley, and Staverton Road, Summertown, pretending to be a vicar needing a loan.
