A woman aged in her 50s was arrested and more than 200 cannabis plants seized following a raid on a home in Kidlington yesterday.

Police were alerted to the cannabis factory by a fire crew called to Beagles Close after a neighbour reported a smell of gas emanating from the property.

Pc Leigh Thompson said: “The investigation is still ongoing and a woman in her fifties has been arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis. She is currently in police custody.

A police spokesperson added: "Drugs are a huge priority for us and we will continue to crack down on those supplying and trading in them."
