Plans for a £30m revamp of Abingdon and Witney College were dashed today after the Learning and Skills Council confirmed it was not one of the 13 projects shortlisted for money.
The project to re-build its Witney campus was seen as a frontrunner.
In a statement college principal Teresa Kelly said it was “devastating news”.
The college’s plans were put on hold in December after the LSC came clean that it had promised more money than it had.
Students and staff were moved into temporary classrooms in September and all of its buildings were stripped in Holloway Road, Witney, ready for demolishing.
