Police are appealing for witnesses after an Oxford shopkeeper was pinned against a wall while another man stole drink and cigarettes.
At about 8pm on Sunday, a man walked into Seven Eleven in Iffley Road and asked the shopkeeper if he could look at some vodka.
He then asked if he could take it outside to show his friend but the shopkeeper refused and asked him for some payment.
The man walked outside and then came back into the shop, pinning the victim in the corner, while his friend stole the vodka and some cigarettes.
The man who asked to see the vodka was Asian, around 6ft and aged in his early thirties. He has a thin face and short dark hair with a small bit of hair on his chin. He had what is described as a funny tooth at the front of his mouth and was wearing a black cotton jacket with a zip-up front and two pockets at stomach level. He was wearing a silver chain on his left arm.
The other man is white, about 5ft 10in tall and of a similar age. He has a fat face, is clean shaven, with short blond, to light brown hair. He was wearing a white short-sleeved shirt with a collar.
PC Fran Whyte said: “This is a particularly nasty incident which has left the man shaken. I would like to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the offence, or recognises these men to contact me.”
Anyone with information which could help the police should contact PC Whyte at Oxford police station via 0845 8 505 505, or if you don’t want to talk to the police or give your name, call the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111
