HAPPY birthday to a true pillar of the community.
Ruby Baker was 100 yesterday and could not have packed more into her life.
Mrs Baker was known to hundreds of schoolchildren in the city after she was a matron at Magdalen College School for a quarter of a century.
To top it all she delivered meals-on-wheels to people younger than her and also worked at the Age Concern shop in St Clement’s, East Oxford, until she was 92.
It is a touching story about someone who has given so much to the city.
We wish Ruby all the best.
