AN all-women group of morris dancers is appealing for members.
Queen Emma’s Morris is down to six dancers – the minimum number needed to carry on.
On Saturday, members dressed all in white, with jade waistcoats and traditional bells and ribbons, to dance around the town handing out leaflets about the group.
Dorothy Allen, 63, of Witney, said: “We don’t want it to pack up, especially as it is the 30th anniversary next year.”
The group was formed by the wives of the Ducklington Morris Men 29 years ago, and practices at Ducklington Village Hall every Wednesday at 8.15pm.
Mrs Allen added that if there were more members they would be able to dance at more functions.
“We have to have six for a session and we can’t do all of the events we would like to,” she said.
