POLICE are hunting for two men who stole the weekend’s takings from a restaurant.
The thieves walked into the Harvester restaurant in London Road, Wheatley, between 9.15am and 9.20am today and snatched the money from a member of staff.
Police said the thieves are white and were dressed in dark clothing. One was believed to have been wearing a baseball cap.
It is not known whether the raiders were armed or how much was taken.
Det Sgt Alun Watkins said: “I'm interested in speaking to anyone who was in Wheatley this morning and saw two men running away from the restaurant.
“It's believed they jumped over a wall into London Road and ran away from the village towards the M40.
“There's a lay-by about 100 yards from the restaurant that is frequently used by fisherman and walkers. Were you here this morning? Did you witness two people acting suspiciously? If so, please get in touch.”
Anyone with information should call Det Sgt Watkins on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
