POLICE have appealed for witnesses after a teenager was attacked with a wheel brace in Oxford.
The 19-year old was leaving a corner shop at the junction of Pegasus Road and Crowberry Road, in Blackbird Leys, at about 10.30pm on Sunday, June 14, when he was approached by a man who hit him over the head with a wheel brace. He fell down, and the attacker and two other men kicked him.
The man with the wheel brace then used it to smash the window of the victim’s car. The man was taken to hospital where he received treatment to a head injury.
A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and has been released on bail until Friday, July 17.
Pc Ron Polden said: “I understand that the shop was quite busy at the time and that there were a number of people in the street. I would like to hear from these people, as they have some important information that could help me with my investigation.”
