Pupils from Middle Barton School will be teaming up with the police as they get sworn in as officers for the week.
Year six students will take on the role of mini police officers all next week and will be working alongside the neighbourhood team as they take part in different activities based around police work.
Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) Chris Jones, said: “We will be working closely with the children to show them the work that the police do and help them to understand how not to become a victim of crime.
“There will be police officers from Roads Policing visiting the school to talk about road safety and we will also be asking the pupils to take statements and carry out surveys on other school children as they arrive at school, offering security advice.
“We are very grateful to the school to help facilitate this event and hope that the week is both informative and fun for the pupils.”
