People interested in becoming a Special Constable can find out how they join Thames Valley Police at a series of events across Oxfordshire.
Members of the Special Constabulary will be on hand to explain how volunteer police officers can help tackle crime and keep their communities safe.
The first event will be held from 11am to 3pm today at Tesco in Abingdon.
On Saturday, the team will be at Botley Elms Parade shops at the mini street fair from 9am to 12pm.
A/Special Sgt Sharon Hagen will be there with Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) to answer any questions and do some free face-painting for the children.
On Friday, July 10, the event will be held in conjunction with the fun day at Milton Park.
A/Special Sgt Sharon Hagen said: “These events will allow people to gain a better understanding of what it is like to volunteer as a police officer in the Vale.
“As a Special Constable we play an important role in helping the police in tackling local issues, responding to incidents and policing events.
“We have the same powers as a regular officer, including the power of arrest, and are issued with the same uniform and equipment.
Chief Insp Andy Boyd, Commander for the Vale, said: “People give their time to become a Special Constable for a variety of reasons: to give something back to the community; to gain vital life skills and experience; or as a stepping stone to becoming a full-time officer.
