Police are appealing for witnesses after a distraction burglary in Cowley.
At 2.15pm on Saturday, two men went to a property in Kelburne Road.
They spoke to the occupant, an 81-year-old woman, claiming to be doing some work in the garden but went into the house and stole some antique jewellery and money.
The men were both white. One was in his early twenties and about 5ft 11in tall. He was wearing a white T-shirt and light-coloured trousers. The other man was aged about 40 and of large build. He was wearing a checked shirt.
Det Con Felicity Parker said: “This is a distressing incident and I appeal for anyone with any information to get in touch.
“It is possible that the men could have been driving a white Renault Megane and I urge anyone who saw these men or the car in the area, to contact me.”
Anyone with any information about the incident should contact Det Con Parker at Oxford police station via 0845 8 505 505, or if you don’t want to talk to the police or give your name, call the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
