Firefighters were called to reports of surface water in Headington and Wheatley after torrential downpours today.
A spokesman for Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said the calls were about surface water and came after heavy rain and thunder about 5pm.
A spokesman for South Central Ambulance Service said they had received no weather-related call outs.
The storm caused traffic lights in Frideswide Square, Oxford, to malfunction during the rush hour this afternoon, causing problems for motorists entering and leaving Oxford railway station.
