A 42-year-old man accused of murder was remanded in custody at Oxford Magistrates’ Court today.
Robert Lee Chin, also known as Headley Thompson, spoke only to confirm his name during the ten minute hearing.
Angela Porter, defending, said Chin, of no fixed address, was not 48 years old as police records had shown.
Devon McPherson, 42, of Divinity Road, died after he was stabbed in the neck shortly before noon on May 18 in East Oxford.
No bail application was made.
Christine Scott, chairman of the magistrates, remanded Chin in custody and ordered him to appear at Oxford Crown Court on Monday, June 22.
