THE total number of Oxfordshire swine flu cases has reached 14, health chiefs say.
Oxfordshire Primary Care Trust (PCT) confirmed a case of Influenza A H1N1 in the county. The case involves a 21-year-old woman, who is being treated at home with anti-viral drugs. The trust did not say where she was from. A further three cases were also identified in the county yesterday.
All three cases are linked to the outbreak at Eton College, in Windsor, Berkshire, but victims have home addresses in Oxfordshire, so have been included in the county total.
The PCT said it could not release any further information on any of the cases for reasons of patient confidentiality. Close contacts of the sufferers are being treated with anti-viral drugs.
Last night, 25 new cases of swine flu were confirmed across the UK, bringing the total number of cases to 822.
The Worldwide Health Organisation also declared a swine flu pandemic today.
