I AM so sick of our city council’s little money-making schemes.
I phoned the refuse department yesterday to ask why my green bags had not been collected.
We had cut a lot of ivy down and had four bagfulls. I had bought three extra green bags from a shop, almost identical to the city council ones apart from no lettering on them at a cost of £1.45 each.
I was informed that these bags could not be collected and I would need to buy more from them at a cost of £7.45.
I find this completely outragous. Is this the best they can do to promote recycling?
We do not drive so perhaps I should just go and tip it. I would certainly not buy these extra bags at that cost.
I would be interested to know what their excuse is for this little scam.
