Best-selling author Louis de Bernières, who wrote the hugely popular Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, is set to take to the stage in Banbury.
He will perform alongside the Antonius Players, pictured left, as part of LiveArts, the voluntary arts organisation based at St Mary’s Church, Horsefair, Banbury.
Made up of three flautists Ilone Antonius-Jones, Sue Sabin and Tina Gandy, Mr de Bernières joins the group playing the mandolin, guitar and woodwind instruments.
Shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and at the Hay-on-Wye Literature Festival have been a sell out.
Louis de Bernières was named one of Granta’s Best of Young British Novelists in 1993, and a year later he won the Commonwealth Writers Prize for Captain Corelli’s Mandolin.
The event takes place on Thursday, June 18, at 1pm, and tickets cost £6 adults, £3 students.
