THOUSANDS of people are expected at the town’s inaugural Banbury and District show on Sunday.
The show, in Spiceball Park, is planning to cater for every member of the family, including the dog.
There will be a tug of war event, dog show, horseback stunts and gymnastics by Jive Pony and a Sealed Knot display.
During the day there will also be performances by the Suruj Banghra Dancers and the Banbury Air training Corps and Royal British Legion Bodicote Youth Band.
The Up and Over Dog Training Club is staging the dog show, which has categories including most handsome, prettiest bitch, best veteran, best rescue, waggiest tail and most appealing eyes.
There will also be a prize for junior handler aged 14 or under, best condition and the dog judges would most like to take home.
Profits from the event, which costs £1.50 to enter, will be donated to Ardley Rescue Kennels, near Bicester.
Registration is from 11am on the day of the show.
Ann Sewell said: “Previous shows attracted thousands of people from the town and from the surrounding area, so we are expecting to get a good turnout with all the attractions we have on offer.
“We are hoping for a really good day.”
Banbury and District Show runs from 11am till 4pm.
