CORNBURY Park hosted its first game and country fair at the weekend – attracting visitors, craftspeople and fans of the great outdoors – despite downpours.
The two-day event saw people flock to Charlbury where they were entertained by sheepdog and falconry displays and ferret racing.
Visitors to the event were able to browse about 100 trade stands, try their hand at archery, and enjoy demonstrations of willow weaving, rod making, woodcarving.
Nigel Gregory, who works at Cornbury Park, took his son Toby to the fair. The eight-year-old had a go at archery.
Mr Gregory said: “Saturday was very wet and the turnout was not so good. On Sunday, however, the sun was shining and there were more people about.”
Adrian Slater, a member of the England Gun Dog Team who appeared at this year’s Crufts, impressed crowds with a demonstration of dog handling skills.
He also provided tips on training difficult pets. Kevin Roxby, who has cooked alongside celebrity chefs, tickled people’s taste buds with a cookery demonstration.
