Schoolchildren are leading a campaign to get drivers to slow down around their school.
Eynsham Primary School, in Beech Road, held a competition for pupils to design posters warning motorists about the dangers of speeding and illegal parking.
The winners will have their posters enlarged and put up around the village.
Thames Valley Police presented winner Martha Page, nine, runner up Ben Weller, seven, and nine-year-old Rebecca Wise, who came third, with book tokens.
Headteacher Zena Vass said: “The police came in a little while ago and spoke to the children about safety on the roads and ways to make it safer for them.
“The things we focused on were speeding and parking.
“Parking certainly is a problem, like most schools around the end of the school day in particular.
“We are trying to improve the parking – and obviously we are part of the campaign to get more children to walk and cycle to the school.”
PCSO Helen Keen said: “The aim behind the competition was to try and educate parents through their children, as we have found that children’s attitudes can have a great impact on changing habits. We want to encourage parents to walk to school whenever possible, and when driving to consider the speeds they are travelling at.”news@oxfordmail.co.uk
