Organiser Phil Knox said he had been hoping for 4,000 people on the day but the wet weather had affected the turnout.
He added: “It has been a bit damp but people have come down in their wellies and enjoyed it.
“We’ve got a big stage and a big marquee and lots of different music – all the bands have really got into the spirit of this and are playing here for free.”
The proceeds from the day-long festival, which cost £10 to attend, are being donated to the Peruvian charity Aldea Yanapay, so that it can build an orphanage to house and educate 40 street children.
Mr Knox said that he hoped the festival would raise £10,000 for the charity and added that organisers also wanted to make a donation to Helen and Douglas House Hospice, in East Oxford, from the sale of programmes.
