The picture was found in the Oxford Mail archives, with no details of the event.
All we know is that the picture was taken by a Mail photographer on April 20, 1962.
Judging from the pillars, the venue was almost certainly Oxford Town Hall. Any clues to what the occasion was? Let me know.
