HUNDREDS of people cast aside their differences and celebrated what they shared for Oxford’s sixth annual interfaith walk.
The event saw about 500 Christians, Muslims, Jews, Sikhs, Hindus and those of other faiths walk from the Oxford Synagogue in Jericho via the University Church of St Mary the Virgin in High Street to the Central Mosque in Manzil Way, East Oxford.
Armed with banners and balloons, the walkers were led by religious leaders including Dr Hojjat Ramzy, representing the Muslim community, Rabbi Norman Soloman, the Right Rev John Pritchard, Bishop of Oxford, and Sikh leader Davinder Singh Gill.
An olive tree was planted at each location, to symbolise peace.
