Police are appealing for witnesses after a 16-year-old girl was assaulted while walking along an alleyway in Littlemore today.
The girl was walking along the alleyway that connects Van Diemans Lane to Bartholomew Road at 10.57am, when she was grabbed from behind by her attacker.
She managed to fight off the man, but not before falling against a wall and sustaining an injury to the back of her head.
The man was described as white, about 5ft 5in tall and wearing a white hooded top.
After fighting off the man, the girl ran to a nearby house, whose owner immediately called for police and an ambulance. She was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital for treatment to her injuries.
Det Con Mark Stalder said: “This was a nasty attack on a young girl who has been left shocked by the incident.
“We would appeal for anyone with information, or who saw anyone acting suspiciously around this area, to contact us.”
