STUDENTS went the distance for charity – running, rowing and cycling the equivalent of 100 miles.
Elliott Walsh and 19 friends used gym facilities to do the equivalent distance from Abingdon to Bournemouth and raised £500 for the military charity Help For Heroes.
The 17-year-old, from Norwood Avenue, Southmoor, said: “It was up to individuals how many miles they ran, rowed and cycled, but the teams had to total 100 miles.”
Two teams of 10 took part in the fundraiser at Tilsley Park Leisure Centre, in Dunmore Road.
Elliott, a student at Abingdon and Witney College, said one of his sport diploma modules involved organising a sporting event.
