A band will play a charity concert in Abingdon in aid of Cumnor Primary School pupil Gulshat Kadyrova – a 10-year-old girl born without hip sockets.
The event has been organised to raise money for Gulshat, who came with her mother from Turkmenistan in January 2006, for a hip operation at Oxford’s Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre.
Oxford Mail readers helped raise £15,000 to pay for the life-changing operation.
The Swingtime Band will perform at the Peachcroft Christian Centre, in Lindsay Drive, on Saturday, June 13, from 7.30pm to 10pm.
Gulshat also has scoliosis, an abnormal curvature of the spine, meaning she has to wear a brace and will need another operation.
A buffet, refreshments and crafts will be available at the event. Ticket prices range from £3 to £7. For more details, call 01235 529142.
